Breif Overview:
For sale is an opperation for dredging on the North Fork of the 40 mile river in Alaska.(or use the equipment on your claims)
From claims to pots and pans to river transportation to camp supplies and equipment, I beleive this is a complete operation for sale.
These claims are river bottom dredging claims. Access is by jet boat or Hovercraft.
Jet boat (not included) is useable in spring and for short periods after a good rain otherwise all access should be by hovercraft (Included).
Each claim is between 8 and 10 river bottom acres with an 'average' overburden of 1 to 4 feet.
There has always been plenty of water for dredging spring thru fall.
Unless there was a recent rain event the water in normally very clear and usually clears in 1 to 3 days after a good rain.
All fees, paper work, and permits are up to date with 2 years remaining on a 5 year APMA permit.(permit good thru end of '27)
Rent is paid thru 11/30/2025 and the affidavit of annual labor has been recorded for 2025
On completion of payment, the new owner will receive complete owner ship of all claims, Hovercraft/trailers, and equipment as well as transfering the APMA pemit into their name.
I will go with you to the Fairbanks DNR office to make sure everything transfers correctly.
Also, to help the new owner(s) I will be in Chicken to show the new owners where everything is, how dredges go together and, to help get the Hovercraft ready for the season.
These are Alaska State River Bottom dredging claims. These are Not Federal Claims.
Reason for selling: Age, health
Note:
-- These are Claims to mine minerals and not "Land" for sale.
-- These are VERY remote claims. You CAN'T drive up to them. A Hovercraft IS required
-- I'm sure you have other questions, don't hesitate to contact me.(contact info is below)

Price
$65,000 cash OBO or "refined" gold (10% discount if paid in gold) - I'm not interested in trades or leasing out the claims
You would also have one additional cost and that is to transfer the APMA (est. $250) into your name.
Included in this price: I will be in Chicken to show the new owners where everything is stored and how to assemble dredges as well as prep of HOV as well as some short lessons on driving the HOV. (basicly to show how everything works)
. Please Note: I am not parting out any items. This is a complete operation for sale.

Just an FYI - In the book "40 MILE" written by Janice Hauser some of these claims were mentioned on page 100.
I did talk directly with Janice and she did verified that some of the claims memtioned in her book really are some of my claims.
In 1989 part of the 6 lower claims (Dancy3 thru 8) helped produced 540 ounes of gold in one season.
